Chinese Acupuncture

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a key treatment method in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It involves the gentle insertion of very fine, sterile needles at specific points on the body to stimulate circulation, regulate energy flow (known as "Qi"), and activate the body's self-healing mechanisms.

Modern research and clinical experience have shown that acupuncture can be beneficial for:
✔ Relieving muscle, joint, and back pain
✔ Reducing headaches and migraines
✔ Supporting digestive health
✔ Improving sleep quality and reducing stress
✔ Promoting women's health, including menstrual issues

Initial consultation with a treatment takes about 1.5 hours, price is £75. Successive sessions up to 1 hour cost £60 per session.

Chinese herbal medicine

Chinese Herbal Medicine uses plant-based formulas that are carefully tailored to suit each individual's conditions. Based on thorough consultation and diagnosis, your practitioner will recommend a combination of herbs to help strengthen the body, correct imbalances, and address underlying health issues.

Herbal Medicine can assist with:
✔ Boosting energy and vitality
✔ Strengthening the immune system
✔ Improving digestion and gut health
✔ Supporting better sleep and emotional wellbeing
✔ Managing chronic health conditions or general weakness

Our Chinese herbal medicine works on 1-to-1 consultation carried out both at our clinic and online. The price for consultation is £60 per session. In average, they take about half an hour per session, depending on how complex the conditions are. Costs of herbs are separate, typically range from £40 - £65 per week.

Oriental Ultra-light Bone Setting (Chinese Daoism Osteopathy)

Most musculoskeletal problems, and many internal conditions, can be prevented or relieved by this treatment, due to changes in the working environment of nerves, blood supply, soft tissues, or space-related organ function.

Poor posture in daily life, minor physical injuries, pregnancy, childbirth, or sports accidents can all cause bones to shift out of alignment, leading to a chain reaction of misalignment and dysfunction throughout the body.

This therapy can serve as an ideal method for regular body maintenance, similar to a full-body massage, or function as an effective therapeutic treatment. Regular sessions not only help alleviate existing symptoms but also act as a safe and proactive measure to prevent more serious issues from developing.

As a rare type of therapy unknown to most people, it is somewhat similar to conventional osteopathy in that it corrects abnormalities in bones and soft tissues. However, the patient experience is very different. As its name suggests, it is ultra-gentle. This treatment is exceptionally calm, pleasant, and relaxing. No hard forces are used, and there are no frightening twists or clicks. The entire process is pain-free, with no trauma or aftereffects to the body. The average pressure applied is only 0.3–1.2 kg, making it suitable even for babies and the elderly.

Surprisingly, the effects are often described as ‘magical’, thanks to the integration of Daoist Qigong techniques within the treatment. Some of the most common conditions that may benefit from Oriental Bone Setting include: 'S'-shaped spine, hunched back, leg length discrepancy, ‘penguin’ legs, backaches, sciatica, herniated discs, frozen shoulder, postpartum recovery, hypertension, headaches, vertigo, urinary retention or leakage, and even infertility...

The price is normally £250 per session. Each session lasts about 50 minutes. We are currently offering a promotional discount of 50%, bringing the cost down to £125 per session.

Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine therapy which consists of burning dried (and aged) mugworts on particular acupoints on the body to treat diseases. It is also used to boost immunity and prevent illness. Moxibustion therapy has thousands of history in China, even predating acupuncture. Strictly speaking, Moxibustion is considered a component of acupuncture therapy

The word acupuncture in the Chinese language is presented as ‘针灸', or 'Zhen Jiu’, which translates as ‘Needling and Moxibustion’.

Traditionally, these two techniques were regarded as a single therapy in China because they share the same theoretical foundation based on the meridian and acupoint system, and they were frequently used together. Additionally, because they operate through different mechanisms, they complement each other in treatment. As stated in the classical text 《Ling Shu – Huangdi Neijing》: ‘Where needles can't reach, moxibustion must be used ’‘Where needles can't reach, moxibustion must be used’.

In China, a growing number of studies are investigating the effects of moxibustion therapy. One bibliometric analysis of all moxibustion research published between 1954 and 2007 concluded that up to 364 conditions can be treated with moxibustion, including fetal malposition, diarrhea and colitis, urinary incontinence, urinary retention, dysmenorrhea, osteoarthritis, soft tissue injury, heel pain, asthma, and herpes zoster, including fetal malposition, diarrhea and colitis, urinary incontinence, urinary retention, dysmenorrhea, osteoarthritis, soft tissue injury, heel pain, asthma, and herpes zoster...

In our general health clinic, this therapy is delivered based on individually diagnosed and prescribed points, and it is performed manually by our experienced practitioners. Moxibustion can be used as a stand-alone treatment or combined with an acupuncture session.
